GLP Course Requirements

Any Individual participating in our GLP course must complete the following requirements to be given a Declaration of Completion:

18 hours of in-classroom theory sessions
14 - 1 hour in-vehicle sessions

$889.00 + Fuel Surcharge

Driver's Experience log must be filled out and signed. You must accumulate at least 60 hours in total of in–vehicle practice with the driving school and with others. Please be advised your co-pilot must be 25 years of age and hold a class 5 drivers licence.

We offer additional lessons at $70.00 per hour +gst + Fuel Surcharge.

Our program includes vehicle rental for road test and complimentary pickup & drop off.

• Pre-trip check, vehicle controls and safety devices
• Risk taking and negative influences
• Costs of taking risks while driving
• Traffic Laws, regulations, and reasons

Defensive Driving

• The Smith System (see the big picture)
• S.I.P.D.E. (scan, identify, predict, decid, execute)
• See-Think-Do (assess the risk and choose the best solution)
• Personal risk tolerance
• Factors that influence driving attitude
• Road Rage
• Interacting with other road users - courtesy, caution and care
• The driver as a life long learner
• What to do in the case of an accident
• Impairment - alcohol and drugs
• Parking Skills
• The car - under the hood

The Laws of Physics of Driving

• Tires, friction, adhesion and grip
• Hydroplaning
• Skids and skid control
• Impact, velocity, acceleration, speed, inertia and force
• Winter Driving

Emergency Crash Avoidance

• Head-On
• Rear end
• ABS or threshold braking
• Brake release, steer

Highway and Freeway Driving

This is a pass/fail course with a mid-term assessment and an end-course assessment.

Packages

5 Hour Package- $275.00 +gst + Fuel Surcharge

Road test preparation for class 5/7
This option is for students who already demonstrate safe basic driving skills, and are looking for an instructor to critique their skills before the road test examination.

10 Hour Package- $550 + gst + Fuel Surcharge

Designed for Students that require the knowledge and skill to become a defensive driver. They need to learn observation and vehicle handling safety.

Defensive Driving
$590.00 + gst + Fuel Surcharge - 12 hours Theory and 10 hours driving

Defensive driving is a system that will allow you to develop an “Active” approach to driving. An early warning system intended to avoid potential conflicts. A method used to prevent accidents in spite of unfavorable conditions and the mistakes of other road users.
